New framework partnership with Northumbrian Water

Renewables

Clancy has been appointed to Northumbrian Water’s capital works and infrastructure construction framework, representing a major boost to the business’ work in the North East.

The award builds on Clancy’s experience delivering maintenance and repair work in the North of England within Northern Powergrid’s energy network. The family-owned specialist contractor already works with a number of the UK’s largest water companies, including Scottish Water, Anglian Water and Thames Water.

With a place on Lot 1 of the water and wastewater network construction framework, Clancy will have the opportunity to tender for specific packages of work as part of Northumbrian Water’s investment programme. The framework is due to run for the duration of the current AMP7 asset management period in the English water sector, seeing Clancy deliver work up to 2025.

Through the framework, Clancy will support Northumbrian Water’s capital delivery programme and help deliver larger, more complex projects that are critical to meeting growing demand and maintaining the existing water network.

Valued between £10 million and £50 million, the framework covers capital works for infrastructure projects across Northumbrian Water’s network within Northumberland, Durham, Tyne and Wear and the Tees Valley, including strategic water mains, cross-country pipelines and flood alleviation schemes.

Lee Cuthbert, Framework Director at Clancy, said:

“It’s fantastic to be working with Northumbrian Water on a framework for the first time. We’re really looking forward to expanding our team and beginning to build a strong working partnership with the client.

“The framework presents a challenging mix of projects across urban and rural areas. With our extensive experience, we’re ideally placed to respond to the varied scope of works. We have the technical expertise and we already know the area really well through our existing energy framework with Northern Powergrid.”
