Innovation in construction at Imperial College
Civil EngineeringOur Director, Matthew Cannon, and our Business Improvement Manager, Alvaro Montenegro, presented to the Imperial College MBA class a case study about ‘Innovation at The Clancy Group’. The program was part of the ‘Managing Infrastructure Project’ course, which boasts guest speakers from Crossrail, Heathrow T5, Thames Tideway, and other major projects.
So what did Clancy bring to the table in such a high-profile environment? Our ‘Internal Customer Journey’ approach to drive internal innovation.
In an open discussion with the MBA students, Matthew and Alvaro presented the foundations of our Vision 2020 program and the Ideas Pipeline initiative launched in May 2015. Current progress, lessons learned, areas for development, and plans for the future were openly debated, with interesting and creative results.
We thank Professor Sam MacAulay for this amazing opportunity to share our innovation process and learn from bright professionals in one of the most respected and innovative universities in the UK. These type of events are at the heart of our collaborative approach to construction and our investment in the next generation.
Now let’s get to work on some of these ideas!
