Clancy mobile update
GeneralWe have a total of 923 Clancy Mobile devices set up and in use by our gangs out in the field. Our in-house IS department are managing all Clancy Mobile support issues and new user requests, which greatly simplifies our support processes, and also allow the IS department to provide an even better Clancy Mobile support service to all of our contracts.
Key Facts
- Over 40,000 jobs were completed via Clancy Mobile between 1st January and 31st March 2016
- On average we take over 6,000photos per day!
Case study
TotalMobile, the company that provides the software for Clancy Mobile, is creating a video case study on our deployment of the solution. They have recently taken a film crew to visit Head Office, as well as our gangs who are working on the Sutton and East Surrey Water contract, and we look forward to sharing the finished case study with you once it is complete.
Awards
Clancy Mobile has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Water Industry Achievement Awards ‘Data Project of the Year’, which is very exciting. We are the only contractor to have been shortlisted in our category, which is an achievement in itself, but we are up against some tough competition, including Scottish Water and Thames Water! We’ll let you know how we got on in the next issue of 6S but for now you can find out more at www.waterindustryachievementawards.info.
What’s next?
We have recently started a trial of an exciting new video technology called eviid by YRFree, and we are one of the very first companies to do so in the utility sector. The system enables our operatives to use their mobile phone as a CCTV camera, to stream live video back to depots and operational control centres. It also allows us to record video where photos don’t provide the full context of a site. More on that in the future!
